Over the years the state has advanced in the field of yoga and its people are now working as instructors in multinational firms in foreign lands.

RANCHI: Over the years the state has advanced in the field of yoga and its people are now working as instructors in multinational firms in foreign lands. Some of them are now directors of the firms and are earning well.
Prabir Karmakar, a former employee of Tata Steel from Jamshedpur, now runs a firm known as Karmakar Institute of Yoga. He went to Russia in 1984 as a yoga instructor and after that it was a dream run for him.

In 2003, he received an offer from a fitness firm 'Yoga Yoga International Limited' based in Hong Kong and continued as a yoga instructor till 2010. After this he opened his own firm and now participates in various workshops all over the world.
Sharing his experience Karmakar said, "The journey I have had till now is like a dream. I never thought I will receive this much appreciation. Now I have a Hong Kong citizenship, but I like to visit my country often. People think there are less opportunities in this sector, but it is not true. With dedication and hard work anyone can attain his goals."
Upcoming talent from Khunti district Preeti Kumari, had been chosen as the fitness instructor by a multinational corporation in Bangkok 'We Fitness'. Preeti, a bachelor's student of life science department in Central University of Jharkhand, said, "My family is happy on receiving the news. Just two months ago I got an opportunity to visit China and stayed there for a month. People should not think that this field doesn't make a good career option, they just need to have patience."
There are more than 50 yoga instructors from Jharkhand training foreigners in Taiwan, China, Combodia, Thailand and Vietnam.
On Wednesday, the 38th National Yoga Championship concluded in which yoga experts from across the country participated. The team from West Bengal won, while Jharkhand was placed third.
